Islam: Outline of a Classification Scheme

This new work has the dual objective of encouraging debate about the need for contemporary classification schemes for Islamic materials, and of presenting a model for such a scheme, which places Islam at its centre and thus eschews the twists and turns involved in adapting western classification schemes to the literature of Islam.
