Science, Technology and Development in the Muslim World

In the past thirty years the Muslim world has largely been liberated from the control of the Occidental colonial powers. This political freedom and the new prosperity of many Muslim countries has created a fresh vigour both in their culture and their way of life, and has seen a new determination towards self-development and self-help.

This book examines how the Muslim world has and should respond to the particular problems of science, technology and development. It argues cultural independence and self-determination while also showing how the Muslim and Occidental worlds can collaborate productively in many spheres.
